An excellent locum opportunity are currently available in the Basingstoke area for Band 5 Pharmacy Technician for an NHS hospital role.As a Pharmacy Technician, you will promote the safe and effective utilisation of medicines in all care situations working with care staff and patients directly including administering oral medication to inpatients. It requires practitioners to understand the patients pathways of care and how best to optimise patients concordance with medicines. There is a requirement to be able and confident in dealing with patients, carers and healthcare staff internally and other organisations to ensure patients are safe with their medicines.Your Impact and duties:*Ensuring timely medicines reconciliation on in-patient units and community teams as appropriate to facilitate a smooth admission to services*Assessing suitability and checking identity of PODs for extended use on wards*Appropriately referring interventions back to the clinical pharmacists or liaising with other members of the MDT within scope and experience.*Documenting interventions and discrepancies on the electronic patient records.*Re-supplying PODs and inpatient items when necessary*Initiating requests for ward non-stock*Assisting in training of staff involved in the schemes and other training sessions as appropriate.*Assisting in contributing to the medicines management audit agenda.*Providing patient counselling on the use of medicines to selected patients.Education and Qualifications:*NVQ Level 3 and BTEC or equivalent qualification in Pharmaceutical Science.*GPHC registeredExperience and Knowledge:*Minimum of 1 year post qualificationIf you are committed to delivering excellent Pharmacy and would like to work for an organisation that values its staff, patients and consultants, we would like to hear from you, to find out more or to enquire about any other opportunities we may have available please get in touch with the team today on (Apply online only)
