At Pentlow Nursing Home we are looking for a Care Assistant Team Lead who will be responsible for leading a team of Care Assistants in our Summer Down building to ensure a high standard of care is provided to our residents.The role is 40 hours per week on day shift, to be worked across 7 days a week.Key Duties* Develop positive, helpful and caring relationships with residents and their families treating them with dignity, respect and kindness at all times.* Ensure that you follow the Homes procedures in relation to the management of accidents, falls and incidents. Working with the Deputy Manager in the management and reduction of falls and incidents.* Conduct a comprehensive handover to ensure that an effective handover between shifts is completed.* Organise the care staff for the shift, delegate care based on your knowledge of the residents and staff levels of skills and abilities* Have a working knowledge of safeguarding, DOLS and MCA, and is able to out this knowledge to practice and seek guidance and support as required.* Ensure that Care Assistants within your team follow the individualized care plans for residents and encourage them to contribute towards their development and review* Report any changes in the physical and emotional condition of the residents to the Deputy Manager* Administer medication to residents as requiredSpecific Qualifications/ Skills/ Attributes* NVQ3 in Heath & Social Care, or working towards* Minimum of 1 year’s employment in a care role* Knowledge of medication administration process* Commitment to achieving medication training qualification to NCFE level 2 as well as competency completion for Medicines Management* Knowledge and understanding of the person centered care planning process* respectful, courteous and compassionate nature* Strong communication skills both written and oral* Able to lead, supervise and manage a teamIn return, we will offer you:* Competitive Salary* Discounts at Major High Street Retailers* Industry Recognised Training, including ongoing professional development* Free Uniform* Free Food available, including subsidised hot meals, free fruit and filtered water* Comfortable Staff Rooms* Guaranteed HoursOur Company philosophy is to create a secure, relaxed, happy and homely atmosphere for the residents to live in and for the staff to work in.
