Position - Practice Nurse - Cambridgeshire Ref - DBPNCAMSalary - £14.18ph rising to £15.49 after probation Period Hours - 24 hours per week, currently Tuesday, Thursday and FridayWe are looking for a RGN with appropriate experience plus knowledge and confidence of working with patients with mental health disorders, learning disabilities and/or are on the Autistic Spectrum to with clients with Autism, Mental Health Issues and Learning Disabilities based on the Cambridge/Bedford Boarder.Our client provides a Locked structured environment with person centred therapeutic intervention for individuals with:* Autism (Autistic Spectrum Conditions including Asperger syndrome) * Mental Health Conditions such as, Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, Personality Disorder, OCD, Depression* Learning Disabilities* Patients at the hospital may also be Detained under the Mental Health Act, under court diversion or informal. You will be working at their Campus that provides specialist units for PICU, Women with Autism and Personality Disorder, Locked and Unlocked rehabilitation services for Men and Women and individuals with Learning DisabilityRGN Role - * Provide and oversee the delivery of primary care level physical healthcare to all patients * Work closely with Clinical staff, including the patients' Registered Clinician, and the visiting General Practitioner to ensure that physical health care needs are assessed on admission, and routine investigations are carried out in a timely manner.* Work closely with each patient's Named Nurse, to ensure that all patients' physical healthcare needs are fully assessed, and where required appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated.* Furnish clinical reports in relation to patients' physical health care for each patient's Care Programme Approach (CPA) and Multi-Disciplinary Meetings (MD's) as required.* Support of Health Education, Health Promotion and Prevention of Ill-Health to all patients.* Support staff in the safe and effective management of deliberate self-harm, carrying out wound care assessments and wound dressings as required, and supporting the development of other staff to carry out this function at unit level.* Ensure that investigations requested are carried out promptly, that results are obtained without undue delay, and are acted on accordingly.* Work closely with all units and the visiting General Practitioner in planning for routine GP appointments; * Be responsible for maintaining the on-site GP, chiropody, dentist and optician surgery, ensuring all clinical equipment required is in place and in full working order.* Complete audit of drugs liable for misuse and controlled drugs across Therapeutic Campus.* Liaise with local Learning Disability Liaison Nurses and external professional teams, including, but not limited to: diabetic nurse, epilepsy clinic and dietician.Knowledge, Training and Experience* Understand of the need for setting, monitoring and evaluating overall standards of care and practice on the hospital, in consultation with the staff and Multi-Disciplinary Team. * Undertake a review of care on an on-going basis in line with clinical governance plan or in response to a local issue.* Ensure compliance with the systems in place, which invite patients and their carers to comment on the quality of services they receive.* Applied understanding of clinical audit, ensuring an on going review of care is undertaken.* Ability to demonstrate applied understanding of clinical risk assessment and management.* Be trained and proficient in the taking of bloods.In return:* £1,000 (gross) bonus every July* Up to £2000 relocation package* NMC pin fees met annually,* 28 days plus bank holidays;* Long service award - on completing ten years with the company you will be awarded an additional two weeks annual leave for that holiday year, plus two weeks pay;* Childcare voucher scheme, private healthcare scheme* £500 referral bonus (qualifying criteria apply)* Cycle to work scheme* Duvet days (subject to qualifying criteria)* Commitment to development and continuing CPD* Assist with the revalidation processPulse is an employment agency/employment business (as defined by the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003) and is acting on behalf of its client in relation to this vacancy.For more information and a detailed copy of the Job Spec please contact Darene Blackwood at Pulse Jobs on (Apply online only) / (Apply online only) alternatively Please forward your CV
