Natalie Wood is recruiting for a Scientific Officer to join an independent veterinary diagnostic laboratory based in Yorkshire on a permanent basis. The client offers a full range of veterinary diagnostic services which include: biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology and histology. As a Scientific Officer, the main purpose of your role is to support the laboratory team assigned to and assisting in the daily workload as assigned under the appropriate technical supervision. Striving to drive customer excellence in all internal and external activities, they should provide support to the team in ensuring that all initiatives are fully implemented and that role model/ambassador behaviour, values and beliefs are adopted across the department. Further responsibilities of this Scientific Officer position will include:· Sample reception/opening up.· Identifying and preparing samples for analysis.· Loading of samples onto analysers (no sample validation).· Being familiar with the Matrix LIMS system and be able to enter sample data.· Data checking.· Reception and booking in of stock and reagents.· Completion of stock books and stock rotation.· Maintaining and correct use of laboratory equipment under minimal supervision.· Making reagents/media.· Recording of temperatures - Fridge/freezers, incubators etc· Laboratory general housekeeping· Identifying own development needs· Working flexibly and collaboratively· Adopting role model behaviour, values and beliefs As a Scientific Officer, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:· Suitable, relevant qualification. - Excellent attention to detail.· Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal. - Strong organisational skills.· Team player. - Highly customer focused.· Highly motivated. - Computer literate.CK Group is an Equal Opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all who meet our selection criteria.
