Medacs is currently looking for Trust Garde Doctors in Paediatrics for the large Trust in the Yorkshire.The salary scale is up to £55,000 per year depending on experience.PRINCIPAL DUTIES OF THE POSTThe principle duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients from and around York. 1 To, at all times, comply with the GMC requirements of Duties of a Doctor 1 To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. 1 To undertake duties as defined within the job description in so far as practicable and in agreement with your clinical director. 1 To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of any Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director. 1 On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust's Corporate Induction. 1 To participate in the Trust's statutory and mandatory training programme 1 To be responsible for the clinical management of in and out patients under your care. 1 To comply with Trust policies and procedures where appropriate. 1 To ensure that all intellectual property rights of the Trust are observed.THE POST The post holder will work and join a team of level one trainees working in Paediatrics. Duties will be divided between the paediatric ward (including seeing acute admissions) and the neonatal unit.You will be responsible, with the support of senior trainees, for the day-to-day care of all medical admissions to the children's ward, and the provision of shared care for all surgical, orthopaedic and dental patients admitted to the paediatric ward.Other responsibilities include the routine examination of normal new born babies in the maternity ward, resuscitation of the new born in the delivery suites and the care of patients on the neonatal unit.The rota also includes out-patient sessions where new patients are seen with the Consultant.Both departments run a consultant of the week system and the successful post holders will be well supported at all times. Although this post is not a formal training post the post holder will be exposed to the same educational opportunities and supervision as the other junior doctors.Both departments operate a full shift system and the post holders will work a combination of normal working days, long days and night shifts including weekend work.The post holder will be expected to keep themselves up to date with current knowledge & practice, to attend clinical meetings within the department & to participate in audit & "in-service" training of other healthcare professionals.The post holder will be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.The post holder will also be required to be available exceptionally for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
